Blueberry Drop Biscuits [Gluten-Free, Refined Sugar-Free]

These Blueberry Drop Biscuits are gluten-free, refined sugar-free and are a perfect breakfast treat when you’re on-the-go!

You know what you can do with these biscuits? Drop ’em like they’re hot! They’re DROP biscuits…get it? OK, I know it’s corny, but I just had to get that out of my system. Now, we can have a serious conversation.

Speaking of hot, you know what’s hot? Hahaha! A better question would be, what’s not hot? Because it is sooooo hot…I mean super, ultra, hot, hot, hot! OK, you get the picture! But honestly, the heat index has been extremely high which is why I’ve been trying to lay off the baking and experiment with no-bake treats like ice cream, smoothies and cookie dough bites.

However, at the same time, I did go a little overboard with the purchasing of local blueberries this blueberry season. I used some in my salads and froze a bunch too, but I really, really, really wanted to make blueberry biscuits. It was on my agenda and nothing was going to stop me…not even THE HEAT!

  • reminiscent of wheat-flour biscuits but made with oat flour, so they’re gluten-free!
  • made with honey, so they’re refined sugar-free!
  • packed with delicious, fresh blueberries!
  • perfect for breakfast on-the-go!
  • the bomb!

These Blueberry Drop Biscuits are gluten-free, refined sugar-free and are a perfect breakfast treat when you're on-the-go!


  • 3 tablespoons unsalted, grass-fed butter (melted, but cooled so not too hot)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk plus 3 tablespoons (I used 2% milk)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons honey
  • 1 ½ cups gluten-free oat flour
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries



Preheat oven to 400°F.


In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of the butter, egg, milk and honey.


In a separate bowl, combine oat flour, salt and baking soda.


Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir to combine.


Fold in blueberries.


Allow dough to sit at room temperature for 3 minutes.


Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto parchment-lined baking sheet.


Use a pastry brush to coat biscuits with the remaining tablespoon of melted butter.


Bake for 14-18 minutes until tops are light golden brown.
